The short version. You buy a personal, non-commercial license for your own creative work. Everything you make is yours to keep, publish and sell. Using WorldFrame inside a business, across a team, or as an enterprise needs a separate license, so email us. Do not resell the software or share your key. The software is provided as-is, and our liability is limited to what you paid.
1. The license you get
When you buy WorldFrame, Sturdy Robot grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on devices you own or control, for your own creative work, for as long as you comply with these terms. This is a personal, non-commercial license: it covers you as an individual creator. Your purchase is a license to use the software, not a sale of the software itself.
2. Commercial and enterprise use
The personal license does not cover using WorldFrame for commercial operations inside a company, deploying it across a team, or enterprise and multi-seat use. If you need any of those, email hello@tryworldframe.com and we will set up the right license for you.
To be clear about your own work: the writing, worldbuilding and everything else you create in WorldFrame is yours, and you are free to publish or sell it. Selling the books and worlds you make is never what we mean by commercial use, and it needs no separate license.
3. What you own
You own everything you create in WorldFrame. Your worlds, characters, maps, timelines, manuscripts and every file the app writes to your disk are yours, completely. We claim no rights over your content and have no access to it.
4. Free updates
Your purchase includes every future update to WorldFrame at no additional cost, for as long as we develop it. Buy once and updates keep arriving through the app, with no upgrade fee and no subscription. We cannot promise any specific future feature. If we ever release a separate major product, we will say so clearly, and it would never remove features from the version you already own.
5. What you agree not to do
- Resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software.
- Share, publish or resell your license key.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to defeat the license validation, except where the law expressly permits it.
- Remove or alter any notices in the software.
6. Your license key
Your key identifies your purchase. Keep it private. If a key is shared or abused, we may deactivate it. If you lose your key, email us and we will help you recover it.
7. Refunds
Purchases are covered by our refund policy: a 14-day money-back guarantee. See that page for details.
8. No warranty
WorldFrame is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of your work. While WorldFrame includes backup features, no software can guarantee against all data loss.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sturdy Robot's total liability for any claim relating to WorldFrame is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost work or lost profits.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version always lives here with the date above. Continued use of the software after a change means you accept the updated terms.
